Project : Distressed – Nomadic waste in the river Meuse
in collaboration with ‘Clean Rivers’ & Province of Limburg
Did you know we can make fashion out of waste from the river Meuse? Our partners in this endeavour were the Province of Limburg and ‘Clean Rivers’, an initiative aiming to stop the flow of plastic through rivers by starting a large-scale waste study.
Together with their guest teacher Albert Cath, students conducted artistic research into the subject of Water Management using media such as sound, film, photography, etc. Albert Cath is a lecturer at multiple universities who has just received his PhD in complexity theory and coping with complex issues. A key element of this research was to visit a part of the river Meuse with polluted riverbanks. We cleaned those parts and made fashion from waste.
